Yaso Matteria Viñas Viejas 2015 is the result of 16 years of study, research, and micro-vinifications of the best vineyards and plots of the D.O. Toro. The project finally took its final shape in the 2014 vintage (after five vinifications) based on very old vines from the villages of El Pego and Valdefinjas. These vineyards are over 100 years old, all 100% Tinta de Toro, with very poor, sandy, and stony soils. As a result, their grapes deliver a wine that has body and structure, but at the same time is very fine and balanced. Intense aromas of black fruits, minerals (pebbles), menthol, and toasty creaminess, along with floral notes of violets, which impart a feminine touch. On the palate it is sweet, fruity, and powerful due to the excellent raw materials, with a long finish.
